Another kind of plate, an Arneson coin.

A sinking brick plate, one of many.

These were photographed on the steps of the Candy Store Gallery and were part of the first show that the Davis Group (circa 1965) had there. Adeliza McHugh was an early supporter of the students and faculty at Davis. These are Brick Brick, Soft Brick and House Brick.

Bob was a member of the San Francisco Potter's Association. The last time he ever entered one of their annual shows he entered two plates, one with a giant eye on it and the other with giant lips. The San Francisco Chronicle ran a photo of a woman reacting to those plates. This plate depicts that photograph and the caption in the paper is incised on the rim.

A large floor piece.

This is a maquette of sink, 1965, which shows that in Bob's original plan a mirror with self-portrait was to be included in the piece. The toothbrush holder was to become a separate piece. He often made maquettes of work that sat on the window ledges of his studio in TB-9.

This is a whiteware typewriter with fingers as the keys. The first one was made in 1965.

Smorga-Bob plate, 1971. Names of pieces were often changed if the artist thought of a better name or if one was suggested to him. This piece also served as a maquette for the larger, almost life-sized porcelain version , The Artist as Chef which was later renamed Smorga-Bob.
